Non-Refundable Administration Fees
Payable to Malta Residency Agency
Non-refundable administration fee of €60,000 applies in respect of the main applicant:
- €15,000 when submitting application (payment terms: 1 month upon submission).
- €45,000 when the Letter of Approval in Principle is issued(payment terms: 2 months upon Approval in Principle).
An additional non-refundable administration fee of €7,500 for each and every adult dependant (except for the spouse) of the Main Applicant (payment terms: 2 months upon Approval in Principle).
Property Requirement
The qualifying property must be held for a minimum period for 5 years, after which a residential address is required.
PURCHASE OPTION
Purchase qualifying property for a minimum value of €375,000 in Malta or Gozo; The applicants have the right to lease the property to third parties for temporary periods during which they are not present in Malta.
OR
RENT OPTION
Rent qualifying property for a minimum value of €14,000 in Malta or Gozo per annum. The applicants may, with the landlord’s consent, sublet the leased property after the initial 5- year lease period has elapsed.



Direct Contribution
RELATED TO PROPERTY AND PAYABLE TO RESIDENCY MALTA AGENCY
A direct contribution fee of €37,000 is required when the main applicant opts for renting or purchasing a qualifying property. The direct contribution fee must be settled within 8 months following the issuance of a Letter of Approval in Principle.
Other Requirements
- Present evidence of possession of assets of not less than €500,000, out of which a minimum of €150,000 must be financial assets; OR present evidence of possession of assets of not less than €650,000, of which €75,000 must be in the form of financial assets;
- Donate €2,000 to a local registered non-governmental organisation or society;
- Fit-and-proper individuals with clean criminal record;
- Be in possession of a valid passport;
- Purchase health insurance covering all risks in Malta and other European countries for each applicant;
- Annual compliance is to be carried out for the first 5 years;
- A fee of €27.50 per person per year for issuance of residency card.
